Dr. Sean Owen is the director of the Bachelor of Applied Science (BAS) program at Mississippi State University. He is a strong advocate for career and technical education and works to create opportunities for BAS students to further their education in their respective fields of study. With a focus on equipping graduates with the necessary skills to succeed in their chosen professions, Dr. Owen is actively developing partnerships with community colleges, industry, and the military.

Dr. Owen is an active member of professional organizations such as the Association for Career and Technical Education and the Mid-South Educational Research Association. He has also been recognized as an emerging leader by Who's Who and has held leadership positions in various educational associations such as the Mississippi Educational Computing Association and the Consortium for Research on Educational Assessment and Teaching Effectiveness. Dr. Owen has previously served as an advisory board member for the National Career Pathways Collaborative and Mississippi SLDS Research Review and Standards Committee.
