In February 2024, Mississippi State and Lone Star College agreed in the spirit of cooperation and to mutually recognize each other as quality institutions of higher learning. The purpose of the agreement is to help Lone Star students who transfer to MSU carry with them most of the credits they have already earned.

• 8-week classes^** - More BAS courses are offered in 8-week terms than others.
• Accreditation - Mississippi State is a SACSCOC-accredited higher education institution.

^* The transfer of credits is subject to Mississippi State University transfer credit policies and requires the submission of official transcripts. Your MS State coordinator will work with you to help determine the credits that will apply toward the Bachelor of Applied Science degree.

^** Not all BAS program areas offer 8-week courses in the major area.
