Gwendolyn Agee
Before Mississippi State, I completed an associate degree in Welding from Jones College. I have always loved working with my hands and wanted to provide an incredible life for me and my four kids. I committed to supporting my four kids through college and now that they are all college graduates, I promised myself I would return to school. I found that I could highly increase my income by earning my next degree, which led me to choose the Bachelor of Applied Science program at MSU.
Trades Supervision is a perfect fit for me since it builds on what I learned at Jones and makes me more marketable to construction companies everywhere. For those considering returning to MSU for further education, have faith in yourself. Although pursuing my BAS degree has been challenging, it's worth the effort to achieve my life goals.
After graduation next May (2024), I am going to prepare for the American Welding Society's Certified Welding Inspector Certification. Without my degree from MSU, I could not take the certification exam and open the doors to higher salaries and more jobs! I am investing in my future and myself. I am a proud Bulldog.
